Installed in the RS-500 is an IC-F6122D digital mobile two way radio mounted with custom wiring loom. The PTT switch has been placed on the steering wheel and wired into the drivers headset. The support team has been supplied with Icom IC-F4102D digital two way handportables, each of which have been programmed with encryption. Headsets were supplied by Talking Headsets. Antenna was supplied by Procom.

The Sierra Cosworth RS-500 Group 8 Touring Car has quite a history having raced in Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore and Asian Pacific Series in 1988-89.
