Icom UK’s Marketing Manager, Ian Lockyer, has completed 3 gruelling athletic challenges for charity. Throughout the last 9 months, Ian has completed the London Marathon, a double marathon in the 24 Hour Challenge and the London Triathlon. In total, Ian has raised £365 for charity which is being divided between the RNLI, Children with Cancer and the Kent Association for the Blind. Ian’s challenges were remarkable because he had only learnt to swim at the start of the year.
Ian Lockyer said, ‘I would like to say a big thank you for everyone’s support in helping me to achieve my goals. I have had some really great life experiences on the way and have got over my phobia of the water. Next year, I want to move up to the Olympic distance in Triathlon which is 1 mile swim, 24 mile bike and 6 mile run. I also want to take some of my Icom work mates from London to Brighton on their bikes and hopefully get them fitter along the way. ‘

Icom UK’s Marketing Manager, Ian Lockyer is undertaking 3 gruelling athletic challenges in aid of 3 charities this year. Ian will be attempting to complete the London Marathon (22/04/12), 24 Hour Challenge (19/05/12-20/05/12) and the London Triathlon (22/09/12) in aid of ‘Children with Cancer’, ‘RNLI’ and the Kent Association for the Blind.
Ian said, ‘Last year I ran the Brighton Marathon for the Kent Association for the Blind and raised £600 which I was truly chuffed about both for the achievement of running that distance and the amount of money I raised. So how do you top a marathon? Well I am going to be taking part in three challenging events (one marathon, one ultra marathon and one triathlon) for three great Charities.’
